Hello dear explorer,
Big Buddha Tian tan (天坛大佛) Tian Tan = Temple of heaven. In Beijing, there is the Temple of heaven. It has been finished in 1993 after 12 years of work. Made of bronze, the statues measure 34 meters high. Unfortunately, the statue is under maintenance and closed at the moment.
What to know about the Big Buddha :
Sitting on a lotus flower at the top of the pedestal of 268 steps, an unobstructed view of the Chinese sea and Lantau Peak. The six statues at the entrance are known as the ” The offering of the six devas”. The Devas surround the buddha and offer him flowers, incense, lamp, ointment, fruit, and music. The offering symbolizes the six perfections of generosity, morality, patience, zeal, wisdom, and meditation. Necessary for wisdom.

Tips for your trip :
1 – Take the cable car from/to Tung Chung MTR.
2 – A sunny day will be even better
For those who like challenges :
Start with Sunset Peak and finish with Lantau Peak !
Sunset Peak is the second-highest Peak on Lantau Island. It stands at a height of 869 meters above sea level. For a majestic view on the island with an incredible experience above the clouds. There are several ways to reach the peak. One of my favorites is to start from South Lantau Road (Near Nam Shan Barbecue Area and finish in Pak Kung Au on Lantau Road).
Enjoy,
