The river “La Loire” is crossing the region of The Loire Valley. It is a vast territory where the ancient kings built many castles. The Valley counts around 3000 castles, some like Chambord for its double helix staircase, Ussé the castle of the “Sleeping Beauty”, Chenonceau knows as the “Ladies Castle”, Blois or Cheverny for Tintin is the most well-known. Some other gems like Azay-Le-Rideau recently renovated are less visited but as interesting with impressive architecture.

André Le Nôtre designed this new style in the 17th century for King Louis XIV. Widely adopted by the European courts, the Gardens of Versailles are the best example of this new style.
“Manifestation of glory and power” is the representation of the Garden of Versailles. Located near Paris and not part of the Valley of the King’s Castles, the Castle of Versailles is another gem of French architecture.
The Loire Valley is known for its wines and exceptional vineyards. For much fun, I would recommend participating in wine and food tasting. The road is mainly quiet or exclusively for bicycles. You can safely travel on your bicycle. Not to forget that the trip can be customized. Recommended for families, group of friend or couples visiting the Loire Valley by bicycle is a genuine experience.
