Hi There, Hello From NYC !!!!
New York city, the dream city. I’ve always dreamed visiting the Big Apple. And, believe it or not, it only happened 27 years later for 24 hours. What to do in NYC in 24 hours? You might think, “not much!”. That’s true, 24 hours is short. I’ve managed without rushing to visit a large part of Manhattan Downtown & have a short look at the famous “Time Square”. How exciting !!! Even with an Intense Jetlag of 13 hours.
My plan was ” No plan, No Rush, No Expectation”.
NYC is safe and very enjoyable for a stroll. I walk around Downtown from the southern part to The High line, was the best choice to discover the neighborhood. Don’t be afraid by the distance, there are plenty of points of interest all along the way and the city is full of surprises.
New York is a very large city with a large scale of possibilities and prices. It all depends on your interests, budget and priorities. Hotels are a big budget, you still can minimize the cost if you stay further. Public transportations are convenient and require a low budget overall. In terms of food, restaurants are of course of higher cost compared to fast food.
Such a pleasure discovering the Financial district, its architectures, high buildings, secret streets. A vibrating district. Allow you few minutes rest at the Greenway Bike Path for a view on Brooklyn. Stop by New York Stock Exchange, The Federal Hall which is the first capital built in the US. In 1789, Federal Hall was the site of Georges Washington’s inauguration as a first president of the United States.

Following the 11th September 2001, NYC lost the twin towers and 2,997 victims. In memory of this sad event, a memorial stand at the exact location near the new One World trade Center Tower and beautiful Oculus WTC path. The One WTC is the tallest building of New York and the sixth tallest building of the world with 104 floors and 546 meters high. The Beautiful Oculus is a 4 billion dollars project hoisting 11 train lines & a great shopping experience.
Continuing my stroll up to the oldest City Hall in the United states (1803-1812). It is still the house of New York City government. Nearby, New York County Supreme Court built in Roman Style from 1913 to 1927. The court is often feature in American movies. The Brooklyn bridge Pedestrian entrance is right next to the City Hall. From there, Soho & Greenwich village are near. Perfect for lunch time. More information HERE
Perfect location for a quiet lunch or break, plenty of cute coffee shops and restaurants. Pleasant residential neighborhood, tiny streets and very few traffic. It takes about 30 minutes walk to get to the High Line. Lovely place to relax, read a book & sip a cold drink. Was quite a hot day, walking barefoot on the water path was delightful. I even found Vegan Ice cream on my way to the High Line on Greenwhich village. Gran Gelato : 335 Bleecker St, New York, NY 10014, USA

Staten Island is in the southern part of NYC. One of the five boroughs. From Manhattan south there is a Pier called Staten Island Ferry terminal. Jump in and enjoy the 25 minutes ride across New York harbor. I haven’t explore the island but it is known for its greenery.
A neoclassic sculpture made of copper. The Statue of Liberty was offered by the French to the United States of America in 1886. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site of 93 meters high. The statue itself measures 46 meters. It was designed by Frederic Auguste Bartholdi a French sculptor while the metal frame was made by the famous Gustave Eiffel.
For a nice rooftop with view & a chill atmosphere, The Press Lounge was the place to be. You’ll have a view on Hudson river and a Skyline.

The story says one night of December 1989, the three tons bull , was dropped illegally right in front of New York Stock Exchange. The Charging Bull, made of bronze is now standing in the Financial district, more precisely near Bowling Green in Lower Manhattan. Arturo Di Modica, the sculptor refers the bull to a symbol of “Strength & Power of the American People”. The Bull attracts every year millions of tourists and is well known around the world.

” Know the power of women in leadership. SHE makes a difference. “Originally the sculpture was facing the Charging Bull. Kristen Visbal made an amazing job. She commented that “I made sure to keep her features soft; she’s not defiant, she’s brave, proud, and strong, not belligerent.” The Sculpture is all about the power of women in leadership and their significant role in the board of directors. The Fearless Girl measures 130 cm and weight about 110 kilograms.
